Narratives Desk
Narratives Desk is the working surface for market theses that develop across related events. A narrative is the underlying interpretation; the desk is the workspace used to rank, filter, inspect, and follow that interpretation.
Workspace model
Section titled “Workspace model”The desk pairs a ranked list with an inspector. Selecting a row keeps the broader ranking visible while opening the evidence and scores for that thesis. Access requires an eligible product permission; if the account cannot read narratives, the page shows an access-denied state instead of an empty list.
The standard equity view focuses on supported S&P 500 theses. A workspace can also expose another narrative view when that view is available to the account.
Views and lenses
Section titled “Views and lenses”The equity view supports lenses for Emerging, Accelerating, High conviction, and Fading theses, alongside an unfiltered view. Period controls and a ticker filter narrow the loaded ranking without changing the meaning of the scores.
The Hot themes · 24h link opens a separate short-window view. It is useful for comparing persistent theses with the noisier themes active during the latest day.
If no thesis matches a ticker or lens, the interface says so. A failed load is shown as an error rather than as zero narratives.
Narrative dossier
Section titled “Narrative dossier”The inspector can show:
- lifecycle state, importance, confidence, momentum, breadth, and freshness;
- a history of importance where observations are available;
- involved tickers and recent catalysts;
- related short-window activity;
- supporting clusters, events, and source-family context in views that provide them.
Missing evidence blocks stay absent or empty. The desk does not manufacture a score or connection to fill a gap.
Related research
Section titled “Related research”Depending on permission and the selected view, actions can open the full dossier, create a narrative report, create an in-app alert, or continue into Event Explorer and Live Pulse. Generated reports appear in Report Center.
Use Emerging Narratives for the conceptual model and Clustering and Narrative Detection for the product-safe pipeline overview.
Interpretation
Section titled “Interpretation”A highly ranked narrative is a structured research lead, not proof that its thesis is true or that an asset will move. Compare importance with confidence, momentum, freshness, source diversity, and the underlying events. A fading narrative can remain relevant, and a fast-rising theme can still be weakly corroborated.
